Our Florida Holiday 2020 – On A Budget

I love Disney World.

In 2018 & 2019 we spent a few weeks in Florida and loved it. We travelled last year with Thomas Cook (We got back 3 weeks before they went bust)

Four of us did 2 weeks in a 4 star Orlando two-bedroom apartment resort for £4,500 including premium economy return flights. I’ve managed to book for under £3k this year!

We had such a good time and while the children are the perfect age (15 & 11) we decided to go again. We didn’t stay at a Disney hotel due to this costing considerably more money and in 2018 the basic Disney hotels are four to one room. I like having an apartment so we have space to live and our own kitchen.

You must visit Gaston’s – Magic Kingdom

I’ve been in May & August and both times it was roasting hot. At the end of August is super quiet as Americans have gone back to school so if you want to queue less- go then. However, Easter school holidays are the most popular time and nearly double the price.

We visit Disney parks, Universal Studios, Kennedy Space centre etc. I’ve always bought the park tickets myself- in fact I have a blog post on budgeting for your tickets and my top tips to minimal queuing and how I got 4 fast passes to Avatar flight of passage to follow…

I have looked at Disney hotels but when I added the meal plan it was double the price! Plus as we don’t go every day to Disney parks it would not work for us.

August they set up Halloween!

So I’ve booked a 12-day holiday including flights to Orlando International from Heathrow, 4 star two-room/ two-bathroom apartment mid August for 2 Adults and 2 children for £2907. I’ve paid a £403 deposit and will be paying off the balance monthly. (I’m not someone who puts things on credit cards and do not advice doing that). In addition, they have just launched the holidays for Easter 2021.We are staying at The Grande Villas By Diamond Resort – Orlando For More Information Click here

Weather wise – August is HOT! And in the afternoon you do get a quick rain shower. As soon as the shower is over it’s roasting hot again. It would not put me off going on holiday late August again.

Yes my son is on the right – we bought fast passes at Universal.

Many holiday destinations available and after many weeks of searching I think this is the most cost effective place to book and with the best, flexible payment options..

Epcot – This was after a 20 minute shower!

The first time we went to Florida we used a 2 week planner so we knew exactly where we were going that day and so that we could fit everything in. I will work out how I can add a link so you can download it and use if for your holiday.

Look forward to seeing your snaps! And if you go in August, I will be the one with the frizzy Monika hair, my hair really doesn’t enjoy the humidity.
